Event Managers Workshop
27-28 November 2025
Welcome to Event Managers Workshop 2025!
We’re thrilled to have you join us for this year’s Event Managers Workshop – a key workshop for professionals shaping the future of major events. Over the two days, you’ll connect with peers, share insights, and explore practical solutions to the challenges and opportunities facing our sector.
This year’s programme is designed to be forward-thinking. Expect interactive sessions, expert panels, and collaborative discussions on topics that matter most. Whether you’re looking to strengthen operational delivery, build resilient partnerships, or harness new technologies, the workshop offers a space to learn and exchange ideas that will elevate your work.
Our goal is simple: to create an environment where knowledge flows freely, networks grow stronger, and every delegate leaves with tools and inspiration to make a difference. Thank you for being part of this community – your experience and perspective are what make this event so valuable.

Craig McFayden
Sport Partnerships & Inspiration Campaign Manager, Street Games
Hi, I’m Craig McFadyen, Sport Partnerships and Inspiration Campaign Manager at StreetGames. With over 20 years in community sport, I’ve seen firsthand how major sporting events can inspire and empower young people, whether that be spectating, volunteering or participating in their own communities. This is especially powerful for young people in low-income communities, where connection opportunities are around 50% lower than in affluent areas.
I’m passionate about creating opportunities where sport becomes a catalyst for change, and I strongly believe those opportunities are most powerful when shaped by the voices of young people themselves.
Dr Taimaz Larimian
Senior Lecturer in Urban Planning, Loughborough University
I joined Loughborough University as a Lecturer in Urban Planning in July 2019. I have a PhD in Urban Planning from the University of Otago, New Zealand. In my doctoral research, I focused on conceptualisation and measurment of urban social sustainability and investigating the relationship between urban form and social sustainability at a neighbourhood scale. My expertise sits within the field of urban studies and planning with a key interest in social sustainability, sense of community, sustainable urban form and city branding. In addition, I have experience in conducting interdisciplinary research with academics in the fields of Management, Social Sciences, and Energy Planning, which has resulted in publications in these areas.
